Funeral services for John Reed, 72, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Billy Brackin officiating. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Reed was born September 23, 1945 in Galveston, Texas to parents, John Edwin Reed Sr. and Bertie Cornelia (Trout) Reed, and passed away January 27, 2018 in Livingston, Texas. During his life, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam and was awarded a Bronze Star. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pat Anthony Reed and Jerome David Reed; daughter, Wendy Lee Naron; and nephews, Jeremy Joseph Reed, Jerome David Reed Jr., and John Henry Hoagland III.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Reed; daughter, Libby Straughan; son and wife, John Edward "Trey" Reed III and Jodi; daughter and husband, Tiffany Reed Galvan and Ernest; son and wife, Russell Naron Jr. and LaDonna; daughter and husband, Laura Reed Ellis and Wade; grandchildren, Zachary Galvan, Maddy Galvan, Kelsi Ellis, Kathryn Ellis, Lettie Ellis, and Rustie Naron; brother and wife, Larry Reed and Nancy; sister and husband, Teresa Reed and Mike; and sister and husband, Rhonda Jorgensen and Ben; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Larry Kimball, Tim Wimberly, Christian Deason, Chris Jorgensen, Nick Jorgensen, Daniel Ellisor, Drew Ellis, Dean Reed
