Obituary

Johna Michelle Webb, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died unexpectedly on February 3, 2026, in Lufkin, Texas. She was 64 years old.

Born August 18, 1961, in Lufkin to Charles and Margaret Bridges, Johna dedicated her life to her family, friends, and to caring for everyone she met. She was the youngest of five Bridges sisters, who she loved deeply. She married the love of her life, Samuel Rowe Webb, on January 18, 1980, and their marriage was a testament to loyalty and love. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, resilience, and warmth. Sam and Johna recently celebrated 46 years of marriage.

A faithful and hardworking woman, Johna balanced the demands of family, work, and community with grit and strength. She worked hard for the good of her family and community, especially her selfless service and dedication to community youth organizations in Channelview. Her steadfast work ethic was matched only by the depth of her compassion — she was a person others could always count on, whether for a listening ear, a good laugh, or a practical helping hand.

Above all, Johna was a devoted mother and wife. Her children — Summer Michelle Leal and Samuel Charles Webb — and grandchildren — Gracey Annette Leal, Augustus Leal, Emma Grace Webb, Samuel Carter Webb, and Matthew Dean Webb — were the center of her world. She celebrated their successes, comforted them in sorrow, and created countless memories through 4-H, fishing, baking, and family vacations. Her home was a place of unconditional love, encouragement, and unwavering support.

Johna is survived by her dear husband, Sam; her children, Summer and Sam and his wife, Lindsey; grandchildren, Gracey, Gus, Emma, Carter, and Matthew; sisters, Deborah Wright and her husband, Frank, Margaret Jo Ermel and her husband, Thomas, Brenda Burr and her husband, Michael, and Charlotte Harrison and her husband, Wesley; bonus sister and lifelong friends, Ben and Kelly Ballew, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. She dearly loved them all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Bridges.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Monday, February 9th, at 2 p.m., at Cochran Funeral Home, 406 Yaupon, Livingston, Texas 77351 with Bro. Tim Brewer officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas.

Johna's legacy of loyalty, love, and tireless devotion to family and friends will live on in those she loved and who loved her.
