Obituary
Funeral services for Johnnie Leroy Steelman, 95, of Onalaska, Texas will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska, Texas with Minister Bridgette Whitaker officiating. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568. Interment will take place in the Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery in Houston, Texas at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2016.
Mr. Steelman was born on March 4, 1921 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to parents, James Steelman and Alice (Condren) Steelman, and passed away August 11, 2016 in Houston, Texas. During his life, he proudly served his county in the United States Navy during WWII. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Reba Steelman; daughter, Brenda Lee; 5 brothers, George, Caroll, Leonard, Melvin and James; and sister, Inez.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Steelman of Onalaska, Texas; daughters, Linda Bodden and Lavada Millwee both of Onalaska, Texas, Paula Bass of Huntington, Texas, and Reba Premeaux of Onalaska, Texas; sons, Charles Swindoll of LaPorte, Texas, Lamar Swindoll of Onalaska, Texas, Terry Swindoll of Conroe, Texas, Jody Swindoll of Beach City, Texas, Dallas Swindoll of Pasadena, Texas, Alan Swindoll of Nassau Bay, Texas, and Paul Swindoll of Florida; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
