Funeral services for Johnnie Lee Stewart, 81, of Houston, Texas, will be held Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Steve Waldrep officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568. Interment will follow in the Old Peebles Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m., until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Johnnie was born February 4, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas to parents, Orzo Stewart and Jessie Marie (Chancellor) Stewart, and passed away May 16, 2022 in The Woodlands, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Frances Stewart; and granddaughter, Valerie Ruiz. During his life, Johnnie proudly served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division.

He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ruiz and husband, Freddy, Janet Stewart, Susan Shehan and husband, Tony, and Peggy Greenwood and husband, Jesse; sons, James Way and William Stewart; grandchildren, Mary Ann Fay, Ashley Way, Austin Way, Allison Way, Kyle Way, John Way, Mistie Castleberry, Tiffany Holly, Johnny Thibodeaux, Jesse Greenwood, Samantha Greenwood, Destiny Stewart, and Joshua Stewart; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother, Orzo Stewart Jr. and wife, Dora; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
