Jon went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on September 10, 1952 to Bob and Beverly Herman in Ft. Worth, Texas. He lived his childhood in Brownwood and Austin, Texas. In 1978, he married Carolyn Burdette Herman. They have 3 children, Joni, Derek, and Dustin.
He spent most of his life working construction, many of those years as a Master Plumber and also served as the Director of Maintenance at a number of health care facilities. He was known to his family and friends as "Mr. Fix It" and could fix or build most anything. He loved to work hard and to see the accomplishment of building things with his own hands. Even during the past 2 ½ years, while battling cancer, he refurbished a home for him and Carolyn; as well as completing many other projects.
Jon loved his family and in recent years, the addition of 3 grandsons, who call him "Papa." He and his wife reside in Point Blank, Texas and are members of the Point Blank Community Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Carolyn Herman of Point Blank, Texas; daughter, Joni Roubion and husband, Johnny of Shore Acres, Texas; son, Derek Herman and wife, Kathy of Seattle, Washington; son, Dustin Herman of Austin, Texas; grandsons, Jace Roubion, Joshua Roubion, and Perrin Herman; mother, Beverly Greenwood of Brownwood, Texas; brother, David Herman and wife, Janet of Traverse City, Michigan; and sister, Janie Pursch and husband, Bill of Bangs, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
