Graveside services for Jonel Pierce Beard, 75, of Houston, Texas, will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Jones Prairie Cemetery in Leggett, Texas with Frank H. Golden, Jr. officiating.

Jonel Pierce Beard, was born February 19, 1946 in Houston, Texas to parents Vernon Leo Pierce, Sr. and Betty Jo Massey Pierce, and passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, in Shenandoah, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Herman Ray Beard.

During her life, Jonel enjoyed playing games (Bazaar, Hand & Foot, and Rummikub to name a few), prairie dog hunting, arrowhead finds, deer hunting, online shopping, she loved gardening, and loved her 15+ year friendship with her dog, Friskie.  Jonel is going to be truly missed – but at least her family had 75 wonderful years to spend with her. During her nine-month long illness; her family spent as much time possible with her and let her know she was very loved until she took her very last breath at 3:14 pm, with her two daughters by her side.

Mama, Grandi, Sissy, Aunt Jonel, is survived by her daughter, Trudy and husband Marty Callan; daughter, Lisa K. and husband Frank Garcia; son, Paul Thompson, Sr. and wife Kimberly; sister, Pauline Pierce Wehling; brother, Vernon L. Pierce, Jr. and wife Connie; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jonel will be escorted to her grave by her grandsons: Paul Thompson, Jr., Corey Bittick, Patrick Thompson, David Bittick, Nick Thompson, Martin Callan, Josh Thompson, and Matthew Callan
