Funeral services for Joseph ""Joe Boy"" Tullos, 68, were held Thursday, September 4, 2008, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with John Taylor and Paul Boyd officiating. Burial Followed in Blue Water Cemetery, Segno.
Mr. Tullos died last week at this residence in Ace. He was born August 29, 1940 in Ace, the son of Ivy and Edith Tullos. He was preceded indeath by his father.
Joe attended Livingston High School and was president of the Future Farmers of America. He joined the Navy and was stationed in Kodiak, Alaska.
On being discharged from the Navy, Joe began working in the road construction business from which he recently retired. He loved horse racing and owned several race horses. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and had a great love of farming.
Almost every time the Livingston Farmers Market was open, Joe could be found there, proudly showing and selling produce while visiting with the people of the community.
Survivors include his mother, Edith Tullos of Jasper, wife, Sally Tullos of Kerrville, daughter, Sandra Dunbar of Livingston, son and daughter in law, James & Leslie Tullos, of Livingstn, daughter & son in law, Jada and Tim Anderson of Greensboro, NC, grandsons, Steven Dunbar of Highlands, Zachary Conine of Livingston, granddaughters Emily & Jada Tullos, and Veronica Guerra of Livingston, sisters and brothers in law Elnora and Gary Ragsdale of Copperas Cove, Murielene and Jerry Hatton of Warren, Linda and Melvin Henson of Livingston, Debra and Ronnie Wood of Livingston, and Margaret and Bryant Pixley of Jasper, brothers and sisters in law Richard and Joyce Tullos of Ace, Robert ""Leon"" and Pat Tullos of Danbury, Jerry & Susan Tullos of Livingston and Bill & Carolyn Tullos of Ace and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Preston Tullos, Troy Tullos, Todd Tullos, Brady Tullos, Paul Henson, & Jimmy Henson. Honorary Pallbearers were Donald Henson, Charles Kenneth Tullos, A1C Chris Russell, Mike Tullos, members of the Livingston Farmrs Marker and the South Polk County Volunteer Fire Department.
The family requests any Joe Tullos memorial donations be made to the South Polk County Volunteer Fire Department or Blue Water Cemetery.
