Obituary

Joseph Donald Lima "Jody", 88, of Livingston/Bold Springs, Texas passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday evening, November 12, 2015, one day after meeting and visiting with his 9 th great grandchild, Isabella Laine Lima, 6 Months Old, of Onalaska, Texas for the first time and celebrating Veterans Day with his family. Jody would have been 89 years old Saturday, November 14, 2015.

Jody is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Collins Lima "Little Darling" of Bold Springs, both of his parents, brother, Frank and wife Ruth of New Mexico, and sister DeeDee Ater of Houston.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, and daughter's David Lima, of Onalaska, Danny Lima and wife Cindy, of Gun Barrel City, Texas, Steven Lima, of Houston, Texas, Jody Lima and wife Debbie of Cottonwood, Texas, Jody Jannetta of Houston, Texas, Daughter and son in law Tina and Jim Hanna of Crabbs Prairie, Texas and Mary Lima of Onalaska, Texas; Grandchildren' Christopher Lima and wife Timberlee of Onalaska, Texas, Judy Bachicha and husband Anthony of Houston, Texas, Andrew, and Alex Lima of Cottonwood, Texas, Lacey Lima of Houston, Texas, William and Jennifer Schmidt of Cottonwood, Texas, Tyler, Nathan, and Johnathan Hanna of Huntsville, Texas, Lauren Forrest of Spring, Texas and numerous great grandchildren.

Jody settled in the Bold Springs area of Polk County, Texas after moving from the Houston area many years ago. Jody proudly served his country in the US Army and honorably discharged after two terms of service. When able, Jody was an active member of the community and a proud donor and sponsor of the new Livingston Memorial Medical Center (CHI). Jody and Geraldine cared for the community and were both as active as possible. Jody enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and special friend of his and Geraldine, Wanda Cochran. Jody loved everything outdoors to include hunting, fishing, raising cattle, horses, donkey's, working hard every day, and taking care of animals on the family land in Bold Springs which he took great pride in and kept just as the ranch signs suggest "The 19th Hole", like a golf course. Jody loved all things water and vacationed with his children when they were young to a still thriving area of Brazoria County, The San Bernard River.

Jody (grandpa) will be missed by many though the family knows the peace he is now in, not suffering the confinements of his bedroom, or struggling to see or hear and is reunited with the love of his life Geraldine.
