Joyce Ann Becher, 70, of Onalaska, Texas passed away peacefully and surrounded by her girls on June 26, 2014. She was born in Silsbee, Texas on September 16, 1943 to the late Delbert Ray Lakey and Valley Spurlock, and graduated from Silsbee High School.
Joyce was an Area Manager/Network Maintenance with Southwestern Bell and retired with over 30 years of service. She was the first female selected to run a switching control center in Southwestern Bell. In retirement Joyce moved to Onalaska to a beautiful home on Lake Livingston and enjoyed fishing, feeding the ducks, and relaxing on the lake. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 28 years Roy Douglas Jeffcoat. She is survived by her brother Ray Lakey of Silsbee, Texas; daughters Amanda Becher Martin of Damon, Texas and Amber Becher Gentz of Livingston, Texas; and one granddaughter Sierra Gabriella Becher. Memorial services will be held at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. on Wednesday July 2, 2014.
