Obit for J.R. ""Red"" Barker
Funeral Services for J.R. ""Red"" Barker, age 76 of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in Livingston, Texas. Services will be conducted by Rev. James Frazier, Rev. Don Willis, Rev. Steve Woodie and Rev. Paul Woodworth. Pallbearers are Andy Evans, Mike Dabney, Judson Pritchard, Barry Brown, Rob Beck and Rod Zeigler. Honorary Pallbearers are United Methodist Men' Prayer Breakfast, Bob Parker and Cloy Baxley. Interment will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston, following the church service.
Red Barker was born on January 5, 1936, in Jacksonville, Florida, to parents, Moses Barker and Lucille Minshew Barker. He married Francie Dameron on December 14, 1978, in Livingston, Texas. Red was a member of First United Methodist Church; Original Board Member of Polk County Crime Stoppers; and United Methodist Men' Prayer Breakfast.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Lucille Barker; daughter, Linda Alley, brother, Earl Dickey and sister, Yvonne Robertson. Red is survived by his wife, Francie Barker of Livingston; two sons, Irvin Barker of Livingston and Jim Barker of Point Blank; daughter, Teresa Pauley of Elna, Washington; sister, Dolores Dickey of Bloomingdale, Georgia; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.
