Obituary

June Catherine (Kitty) Marsh Suddarth passed away in Houston, Texas on November 17, 2017.   June, a distinguished, highly-skilled Registered Nurse and a longtime resident of Spring Branch, is mourned by two beloved sons, six devoted siblings, a much-loved extended family, and a lifetime of friends and professional colleagues.    The many who will forever hold June's memory in their hearts celebrate her passionate love for her family, her friends, her home, and her profession, wherein she modeled the highest standards of personal and professional ethics.  All who loved her will cherish memories of June's wit and intelligence; her remarkable generosity; her expansive and gracious hospitality; her patriotic love for her state and nation; her signature style in fashion and interior decorating; her relish of classic country and bluegrass music; and her status as a connoisseur of the best in motion picture and television entertainment.

Born in Livingston, June was raised in Leggett.   She attended Leggett Baptist Church, where she first professed her faith and was baptized in 1952.  She attended Leggett High School, where she graduated in l958.  June attended The Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Beaumont and began a rewarding nursing career as an emergency room nurse in Houston and Denver.   During a hiatus from nursing after marrying and starting a family, June entered professional partnership with her husband, becoming a State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser and an active member of The International Society of Real Estate Appraisers.  Upon re-entering nursing in 1995, June began a twenty-two-year career in home health nursing, remaining active until the end of her life.

June is survived by son Lawrence Bartee (Bart) Suddarth, Jr. of Richmond and son Brian Bartee Suddarth of Houston.   She is predeceased by husband Lawrence Bartee (Larry) Suddarth.  June is also predeceased by her parents, Ruth Henrietta McCormick Marsh and Manton Eddie Marsh.   She was preceded in death by five brothers: her twin brother, Judson McCormick (Mickey) Marsh; James Douglas Marsh; Manton Eddie Marsh, Jr; Mark Wilson Marsh; and Rogers Herndon Marsh.  She is survived by three sisters, three brothers, and their families:  Polly Ruth Marsh Lapham of Atascocita; Emily Marsh King and her husband Wayne King of Beaumont; Loree Marsh Vernon of Houston; John Thomas Marsh and his wife Joan of Refugio; Laban M. Marsh and his wife Tommy Nan of Houston; Stephen Bob Marsh and his wife Carol of Bridge City.

June's funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs, Texas.  Burial in the Bold Springs Cemetery will follow the service.  The Rev. Harold Isaacs will officiate.  Honorary pallbearers are June's sons Bart and Brian; her brothers John, Laban, and Bob; and her brother-in-law Wayne.

Preceding the 2:00 p.m. service, friends and relations are invited to visit with June's family in the church fellowship hall, starting at Noon.   A light meal will be shared as June's loved ones take the opportunity to visit with each other.
