Funeral services for Kara Gwen Battise, 61, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Monday, August 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the Indian Village Assembly of God Church in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Keith Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at the First Texas Indian Baptist Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. The wake service will be held Sunday, August 18, 2024, starting at 6:00 p.m., at the Indian Village Assembly of God Church in Livingston, Texas.

Kara was born February 25, 1963, in Livingston, Texas and passed away August 15, 2024 in Lufkin, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Abbey and Irene (Celestine) Abbey; husband, Darrell Battise; son, Jeremy Battise; daughter, Selena Rayale Battise; and brothers, Ronnie Abbey, Aron Abbey, and Lloyd Abbey.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Emily Battise and Gabriel Bullock, Kierston Battise and David, Kaytlinn Kowena and Michael, Selena Battise and Caleb Wilson, all of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan Williams and Shannon of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, B.T. Battise, Nivayah Battise, Jeremykk Battise, Chancellor Alec, Emerris Alec, Anthony Battise, Taylor Battise, Hedeia Battise, Daiston Battise, Praise Battise, Kuaneah Kowena, Nakoah Kowena, Sampson Kowena, Mikea Kowena, Skyler Battise, Trae Williams, and Tyson Williams; great grandchildren, Tayson Williams, Luca Battise, and Luna Zavala; brother, Jeffrey Williams of Livingston, Texas; sister-in-law, Olivia Williams of Livingston, Texas; brother-in-law, Clifton Battise of Livingston, Texas; brother-in-law, Claudie Battise of Livingston, Texas; sister-in-law, Olivia Abbey of Livingston, Texas; and sister-in-law, Kay Abbey of Dickinson, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
