Funeral service for Katherine (John) Thompson, 79, of Livingston, Texas will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Texas Indian Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Roy Jernigan and Rev. Lloyd Bassoo officiating. Interment will follow in the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018 in the First Texas Indian Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Elton, Louisiana to parents, Abel John and Elsie (Langley) John, and passed away May 4, 2018 in Lufkin, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Thompson; and brothers, Harold John and Stanley John.

She is survived by her daughter, De'Aun Williams and husband, Clifford of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Priscilla Thompson of Livingston, Texas; son, Abel Thompson of Livingston, Texas; sister, Leola Sylestine of Elton, Louisiana; sister, Anna Thompson and husband, Clamon of Elton, Louisiana; granddaughter, Amber Thompson of Livingston, Texas; grandson, Brent Thompson of Livingston, Texas; granddaughters, Faith Thompson and Marayah Thompson both of Livingston, Texas; 12 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Romero, Ethelyn Sylestine, and Naomi Battise; brother-in-law, Donnis Battise; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
