Kathryn Lindsey passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 26, 2024, in Lufkin, Texas, at the age of 89.  She was born in Devine, Texas, where she grew up and met her high school sweetheart and husband of 57 years, Stanley Lindsey. Together they had 3 daughters and spent most of their marriage in Livingston, Texas after deciding to move from Houston and raise their family away from the big city.

Kathryn, aka Ms. Kat, aka Nana, was a strong and independent woman who devoted her life to creating a welcoming home and investing in the lives of her family and those that became like family. She was an active member of Schwab City Baptist Church, where she served as GA Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, and in any other position where help was needed. She enjoyed working outdoors in her yard, reading, spending time with her family and doting on her beloved dog "Pretz."

Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Lindsey; granddaughter, Kayti Gothard; parents, Margaret and Lawrence Evans; and siblings, Mary Brown, and Lawrence Evans Jr.

She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Audrey DeBord of Livingston, Suzanne and James Witherspoon of Livingston, Lorie and Robert Lindsey of Lufkin; grandchildren, Kelly and Angel Ortega of Lufkin, Tamara Marberry of Livingston, Dexter Gothard of Livingston, Kristen and Ambus Lofton of Livingston, Caitlyn and Travis Rollins of Allen, Samuel Lindsey of Lufkin, Nicole DeBord of Austin, and Amanda Aaron-DeBord of Houston; great grandchildren, Kaela, Ryan, Madisyn, Emeren, Adelyn, Olivia, Maliah, Anissa and Raegan; great great grandson, Kasen; siblings, Joyce Crutchfield of Pleasanton, and Connie Willis of Tucson.

Visitation will be held at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas on Friday, March 8th from 6-8 pm.
Funeral services will be held at Cochran Funeral Home on Saturday, March 9th at 2pm with interment to follow at Holly Grove Cemetery.
