Kathy was born February 12, 1957, in Pasadena, Texas, and graduated from Deer Park High School in 1974. Kathy spent many years working at Texas Instruments, however, she was mostly known as the brains behind Texas New Air; all while being a dedicated and loving mother.  Kathy was happily married to Marty Newman, who was her partner in life for 45 amazing years. They went on to have two children, Jeffrey and Sara.

Kathy was known to most as Kat or Momma Kat who loved her kitty cats. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Kat had a passion for live music, dancing, fishing, solving puzzles, and playing games.  Those who visited her, often could not leave before she shared a cold beer while beating them in a game of dice or 10,000 as she called it. Kat had a bright and energetic personality with a laugh you would never forget. She was known for her ability to sense when people needed help and she touched many lives with her generosity.  Kat truly made it her mission to improve the lives of others, and she knew no stranger. She touched many lives and will be missed by many more.

She is survived by her husband, Marty Newman of Onalaska, Texas; son, Jeffrey Newman of Spring, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Troy Hinson of Houston, Texas; brother, Bobby F. Thompson of Mansfield, Texas; and sister, Linda Thompson of Dallas, Texas; along with numerous nieces, other relatives, and friends she called family.
