Kianna Thompson was a free spirit whose love touched everyone who knew her. She gave her love freely and lived with a warmth and openness that made people feel seen, valued, and cared for. If you knew Kianna, you knew her heart.
She had a deep love for animals, especially her three beloved boys, LonZo, Lux, and Biggie Paws, who brought her endless joy. Kianna was fiercely protective of those she loved, including her husband Benji, her mother, and her siblings. Her love for family was strong, steady, and unwavering.
Kianna proudly served the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe in many roles. She worked as a Summer Youth Coordinator, a position she truly loved, where she gave all of her energy into supporting and encouraging young people. She later worked with the Tribal Elders Program as a cook, where she not only prepared meals but built very strong and meaningful connections, visiting, laughing, and making sure each elder felt cared for. The elders have shared how much they missed her when she transitioned to her role with Indian Health Service as a medical records clerk.
Kianna had a gift for bringing light into a room. She made people laugh, lifted spirits, and would go out of her way to help others. She lived her life with kindness, sharing it freely with everyone around her.
She was surrounded by a loving family who meant everything to her, and who now carry her memory forward with love and pride. She was deeply loved by her father, Joel Scott Thompson, who cherished her more than anything. It brings comfort to know that he was waiting for her, welcoming her with open arms as she began her journey home. She is also reunited with her sister, Delana Poncho, who was there to receive her with love, continuing the bond they shared beyond this life.
