A Celebration of Life for K.Z. Smith, 25, of Waterwood, Texas, will be Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Baptist Church in Oakhurst, Texas with Rev. Tim Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Hill Cemetery just next to the church under two cedar trees. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 12:00 p.m. in the church.
Keith Zaniel Smith, 25, of Waterwood, Texas tragically passed away after a boating accident on May 1, 2021. He was born on January 8, 1996 in Mesquite, Texas. KZ is survived by his parents, Joshua and Terry Brown and Juan Rosas; brother, Nathan Rosas and Holly Vaughn; brother, Jason Brown; sister, Zoey Brown; girlfriend, Haley Hardy; grandparents, Bob and Alma Linnabery, Dale and Kylia Smith, Larry and Susan Gaylord, Bill and Cathy Sadler, Flavio Rosas and Adelfa Bautista; great-grandmother, Virginia Smith; along with numerous loving aunts, Klea, Jamie, Carmen, Guadalupe, Sandra, Adriana, Brenda, Mari, Rosalba, Caitlin, Brittany, Joey, Gina, Jennifer; uncles, Brandal, Jacob, Russell, Francisco, Salvador, Alejandro; numerous cousins and treasured friends.
KZ graduated from Coldspring High School in 2014, then attended U.T.I. with a focus in diesel mechanics. After graduation, he was employed at Patterson Drilling as a derrick hand in the oil field. KZ loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Center Hill Baptist Church. Anyone who knew him, knew he had an immense passion for the outdoors. Whether it be, hunting, fishing, four wheeling or working on his buggy and trucks, you would always find KZ outside. He never had an empty word and carried himself with integrity. He was patient, kind and slow to anger. KZ was thoughtful, hardworking and to know him was to love him. His family and friends will miss him more than words can say.
Pallbearers for the service will be Brandal Wade, Jason Brown, Lane Purvis, Austin Jones, Seth Jones, Haiden Harper, Ben Phillips and Tater Cartwright.
Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Rosas, Cobrin Patterson, Jacob Langley, Joe York, Lane York, Carson Hickman, PJ Giddens, Cole Porter, Chandler Robinson, Dakota Marett and Chance Wells.
