Obituary
Services for Lawana Yancey, 73, of Katy, Texas, will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Harold Isaacs officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery in Cleveland, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 PM, Friday, July 4, 2014 also at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mrs. Yancey was born on March 30, 1941 in Pine Hill, Texas and passed away on July 2, 2014 in Katy, Texas. She worked as a dispatcher for Harris County for many years. She was a proud grandmother and mother, who had a great love and dedication to her family and had a strong will for life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd E. Yancey; parents, Jimmy Lee Hillin and Marjorie (Bosworth) Hillin; brother, G.W. Hillin; and sister, Jimmy Sue Hillin.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Yancey and Tina of Splendora, Texas; daughter, Kay Yancey of Splendora, Texas; grandchildren, Kayla Skinner and David of San Antonio, Texas, Dallas Drummond of Splendora, Texas, and Brooke Hilton of LaPorte, Texas; nephew, Hayden Villyard of Splendora, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
