Funeral services for L.C. "Jack" Lindsay, 74, of Leggett, Texas will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Orville Barger officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Grove Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post# 8568. Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2015.
Mr. Lindsay was born in Livingston, Texas to parents, Cecil Lindsay and Adelle (Wright) Lindsay and passed away November 6, 2015 in Livingston, Texas. He graduated from Leggett High School in 1960. Jack entered the Army in 1962 and served in Korea until he was honorably discharged in 1965. Mr. Lindsay was a Master Mason and an active member of the VFW in Livingston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Adele Lindsay; father, Cecil Lindsay; and brother, Billy Earl Lindsay.
He is survived by the love of his life, Ms. Delores Davis and her family; sisters, Peggy Nowlin, Temple Agpalza, Mary Ann Flowers, Katherine Nowlin; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
He worked many years for Houston Natural Gas which was later bought out by Enron. After his retirement, Jack repaired clocks and watches in Nacogdoches, Houston and Livingston areas. He loved the Lord, was a member of First Baptist Livingston and also attended Providence Baptist Church. Jack was a history buff who loved to hear stories about the "old days" and never met a stranger. He will be sorely missed by his family and close friends.
His request was that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Masonic Home and School of Texas. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Bradford Nursing Home and Rose of Texas Hospice for Mr. Lindsay's care, and consideration for his family during his brief illness.
