LeRoy Gates, age 78, of Livingston, Texas, passed away on July 14, 2013. He was born on June 16, 1935, in Crockett, Texas, to his mother, Allie E. Gates. On July 10, 1954, he married his best friend Vaudene (Smith) in New Willard, Texas. They moved to Livingston and attended worship services at The Church By Christ Jesus. LeRoy was an A/C man by trade and a skilled electrician. He was very much involved with helping with the youth and Coached Little League Baseball. He loved this very much.

He is preceded in death by his mother; three brothers, Billy Gates, Douglas Gates and David Currie; sister, Betty Wood and his grandfather, Joshua Gates. His survivors include his wife, Vaudene Gates, of Livingston, Texas; three daughters, Thresa Hance and husband, Gregor, of Livingston, Texas, Karla Gates, of Goodrich, Texas and Tina Allen and husband, Steve, of Atascasita, Texas; son, Roy Allen Gates, and wife, Melissa, of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Dwayne Tolar and wife, Tina, Ryan Tolar and wife, Brandy, Roman Tolar and wife, Rachel, Joshua Gates, Deirdre Gates, Brittanie Quinn and husband, Randy; great-grandchildren, Abigal Tolar, Anthony Tolar, Tara Tolar, Taylor Tolar, Kaleigh Tolar, Logan Tolar and Sandra Huff; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM-10:00 PM on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Funeral services for LeRoy Gates will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Algie Lee Kilgore and Rev. Harold Follwell officiating the service. Interment will follow in Holhausen/Darby Cemetery. He will be escorted to his final resting place by his pallbearers, Dwayne Tolar, Ryan Tolar, Roman Tolar, Joshua Gates, Logan Tolar, Anthony Tolar, Joe Seshelki and Bryan Smith. His honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters and great-granddaughters.
