Leroy Kay age 68 of Rye passed away Sunday January 24, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 27, 2010 at 12:00 Noon in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anthony Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Falba Cemetery in Huntsville. Visitation will be Wednesday January 26, 2010 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM also at Cochran Funeral Home.

Leroy was born March 18, 1941 in Huntsville to parents Roy William Kay and Velma L. Ashworth Kay. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Ethel Evohn ""Galeno"" Kay.

He is survived by his son Howard Kay of Rye, daughter Tina Lawson and husband Ricky of Rye, girlfriend Becky Chandler of Rye, grandchildren Bryan & K.C. Kay of Lumberton, Roseann & Justin Rickard of Alabama, John Paul Kay of Liberty, Hollie Kay of Dayton, Ashley & Troy Flower of Rye, and Shannon Benavides & Husband Gerald of Rye. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Cameron, Austin, Sierra, Larry, Gunnar, Isaac, Kristine, and Joshua, and his sister Patsy Dowden and husband Pete of Louisiana.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerl Griffin, Bill Stuart, Sunny Stanfield, Robert Allen Kirkland, Mickey Josey, and Lloyd Dubbins. Honorary pallbearer will be G.G. Lee.
