Obituary

Lillian Dorothy Bratton was born on June 1, 1921 to Allen David and Lillie Belle Brazil in Benton, Arkansas. She went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2017 in Livingston, Texas at the age of 96.

Lillian worked as an office manager and bookkeeper for many years which gave her the skills needed to serve the residents of Point Blank. She served on the Point Blank City Council for three years prior to becoming Mayor in 1995. She served as Mayor until 2009. In addition, she served on the Board of the Lake Livingston Water Supply from 2000 until 2016 and also served on the Board of the Point Blank Volunteer Fire Department for several years. Lillian was a skilled seamstress and an avid gardener.

Lillian married the love of her life, Howard, on December 26, 1941 and they raised six children together. Lillian is pre-deceased by her husband Howard and her sons Jeffrey and Douglas Bratton. She is survived by her children Corliss (Bratton) Rogers, Keith (Thea) Bratton, Dale (Royleene) Bratton and Phillip (Lynn) Bratton; her grandchildren Debora Willis, Jennifer (James) Murray, Gary Lee (Caroline) Bratton, Daniel (Candy)Bratton, Mathew Bratton and Ryan (Caitlyn)Bratton and great granddaughter Lilian Hannah Bratton. She is also survived by her sisters Evelyn (Ed) Counts, Brenda (Mike) Pearce and Patricia Dube.

Lillian was a blessing to everyone she met and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be Friday, August 4, 2017 5:00 – 7:00pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 212 Old Groveton Rd. South, Onalaska, TX 77360.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 10:00 am, at Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska with Rev. Mariann Rayne officiating. Interment will follow at Foster Cemetery in Point Blank, Texas.

Following the graveside service, the family invites you to join them at the Point Blank Volunteer Fire Department to celebrate Lillian and a life well lived.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Point Blank Volunteer Fire Department, 230 Dove Creek Drive, Cold Spring, TX 77331.
