Lois Catherine Cooley, 88 of Livingston, Texas, was born April 26, 1935 in Decatur, Illinois and passed away November 7, 2023 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Lawrence Cooley; parents, John W. Redden and Ida M. (Laughlin) Redden; son, Jon "Butch" Cooley; daughter, Sandra "Susie" Cooley; brother, James Redden; and sister, Barbara Edwards.

Lois enjoyed birdwatching and watching basketball, baseball and football. She loved to spend time with her family and watch her great grandchildren at play. She was actively involved with the South Polk County Volunteer Fire Department and Red Cross as well as various other activities with First United Methodist Church until her health slowed her down.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Ellison and Kathy Jo Cooley of Livingston, Texas; granddaughter, Megan Phillips and husband Joshua of Livingston, Texas; grandson, Justin Ellison and wife, Taylor of Livingston, Texas; granddaughter, August Thompson and husband Matt of Livingston, Texas; great grandchildren, Whitley Jo "Jojo" Phillips, Colin Ellison, Riley Ellison, and Eli Thompson, all of Livingston, Texas; niece, Debbie Edwards of Pekin, Illinois; and special friend, Angela Bailey of Livingston, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
