Funeral services for Lonnie Sanders Williams, 43, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation Multi-Purpose Center in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Roy Jernigan officiating. Interment will follow in the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019.
Lonnie was born August 23, 1975 in Woodville, Texas to parents, Larry Williams and Laberta (Polite) Williams, and passed away January 20, 2019 in Conroe, Texas. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Peter Sanders and Dedie Beatrice Williams; maternal grandmother, Bernice Polite; and twin nieces, LaSonna and LaDonna Williams. During his life, Lonnie was very proud to have graduated from Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Lonnie was described as having a good sense of humor, loved to cook and telling stories with family and friends. Of course, he had many stories about his game winning volleyball pike or block that may or may not be true! He loved his native culture and enjoyed singing with the drum group, Eagle's Nest. Lonnie loved his Dallas Cowboys and was an avid OU Sooner fan. He also loved watching TV, going to concerts and he absolutely loved his long hair!
He is survived by his father, Larry Williams of Lufkin, Texas; mother, Laberta Williams of Livingston, Texas; sister, Dara Williams and Calvin Wilson of Livingston, Texas; brother, Daniel Williams of Lufkin, Texas; long-time companion, Stacie Sylestine of Livingston, Texas; and father-figure to Brent Thompson and Faith Thompson of Livingston, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
