Louise Virginia Bowen Hickman 85 of Leggett left for Heaven Wednesday January 14, 2009. Funeral services will be Sunday January 18, 2009 at 2:00PM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Grove Cemetery.

Louise was born near Savannah Georgia on July 1st 1923, where she grew up with her mother Maggie Bowen and father Wright Bowen and her 6 brothers and sisters. She married Rufus Hickman on November 26, 1952, while he was in the United States Navy. Then moved with him to San Diego, Ca., and lived there until Rufus retired in 1960 and then moved to Leggett, Texas. She was a member of the Leggett Baptist Church, were she was saved in 1962. Louise worked faithfully in the church for many years. She lived daily for the Lord and loved her family greatly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Rufus Hickman, sisters Annie Lee Rogers and Loree Sikes, brothers Lehman Bowen and Alton Bowen.

She is survived by her sons Gary Hickman and wife Cindy of Brenham, Brian Hickman of Leggett, daughter Sharon Hall of Leggett, brothers Clifford Bowen of Savannah, Ga.,

Grady Bowen of Claxton, Ga., and grandchildren Shawn Yarbrough of Humble, Grant Hickman of Brenham, andf Kristen Hall of Leggett. She is also survived by her loving church family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Hickman, Ronald Hickman, Dennis Hickman, Jimmy Hickman, Mark Hickman, Grant Hickman and Shawn Yarbrough. Honorary pallbearers will be Felder Dubois, David Hon, Bubba Dubois, Jessie Barefield, Jerry Amos, Raymond Stuckey, and Roland Hickman.
