Funeral services for Lowell Edward Benton, 80, of Ace, Texas, will be held Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. John Taylor officiating. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post# 8568. Interment will follow in the Ace Community Cemetery in Ace, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m.
Mr. Benton was born December 11, 1936 in Prescott, Arkansas to parents, Spencer Benton and Inez (Rhodes) Benton, and passed away October 4, 2017 in Houston, Texas. During his life, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Lowell was the last surviving sibling of 11 and was the second to youngest. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kay M. Benton; son, Glenn Benton; and ten brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Robin Hudnall and husband, Junior of Frankfort, Kentucky; daughter, Joyce Miller and husband, Guy of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; son, Chris Moehlmann and wife, Wendy of Livingston, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and caregiver, Delores Johnson of Ace, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Randy Touchet, Bo Potter, Raymond Denton, Joseph Tobias, Tommy Williams, Brian Williams
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Lowell Benton to the South Polk County Volunteer Fire Department.
