Loyaluia Mae Brown, lovingly known as Mom, Grandma Brown, or Sparkie, passed away peacefully in Livingston, Texas, Friday, June 6, 2025, at the age of 93.

Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on August 31, 1931 (though some say 1930), Loyaluia was the cherished daughter of Noah Sparks and Effie Slater. She grew up surrounded by a large, loving family and carried that same warmth and devotion into her own life.

Loyaluia had an incredible zest for life and an unforgettable spirit. She had a deep love for painting, nature, and her beloved dog Emma. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Known for her spunky personality, infectious wit, and homemade baked goods, she had a way of making everyone she met feel special, seen, and loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Linville Brown; siblings Jack, Meldona, Nettie, Noah, Wilma, and Woody; her son, James Brown; daughter-in-law, Margaret Brown; son-in-law, Elvin Simpson; grandson Russel Beard; great-granddaughter Corral Beard; and great-great grandson Teygan Beard.

She also leaves behind several great-great-grandchildren, along with countless extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Cochran Funeral Home, 406 Yaupon Avenue, Livingston, TX.
