Lt. Cmdr. (Ret) Victor L. ""Mac"" McCallon 86 of Livingston passed away Wednesday May 6, 2009. Funeral services will be Saturday May 9, 2009 at 10:00AM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday May 8, 2009 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM also in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel.
Mac was born August 18, 1922 in Tennessee to parents Victor McCallon and Lou Cardin McCallon. He served from 1940 to 1950 in the United States Navy. He was assigned to The Carrier USS Oriskany were we served in the Pacific, Japan and Aleutians. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Livingston, Lions Club and the Sam Houston Amateur Radio Club (SHARK). He also enjoyed doing electronics,amateur radio listening to music,and was proficient in the guitar and organ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Homer McCallon and son James McCallon.
Mac is survived by his special friend Joy Knight of Livingston, son Scott McCallon of Tacoma, Wa., daughter Tracy McCallon of Oxnard Ca., and grandchildren Keith, Anna, James and Katielynn.
