A Memorial service for LTC (Retired) Dr. Connie Lee Wood will be at 11:00 AM, January 31, 2019, Pine Forest Baptist Church, 10537 US Hwy 190 W, (East of Onalaska), Texas with Pastor Sean Ferry officiating. The family will greet friends at the church 1 hr prior to the memorial service.

Services with Full Military Honors will be at the National Cemetery in Houston, Texas, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038 – Date and time to be determined and posted with Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Lieutenant Col. (LTC), Connie Lee Wood served his Country proudly for 28 years.

LTC (Retired) Dr. Connie Lee Wood, 70, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at his home in Onalaska, Texas. He was born July 16, 1948, in Alva, OK. His parents were John and Ella Wood.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Locke Wood. Surviving Family: Step-Daughter, Dwana Peters. Brother-in-law – Paul Locke and wife Brenda. Sisters-in-laws: Margaret Alford, Jean Locke and Lois Byrne. Deceased sisters-in-laws: Dorothy Locke Gibson and Nancy Locke Smith.

Connie was officially retired from the military July 16, 2008.

AGFC Specialty: International Aviation Trust Company specializing in U. S., titled Aircraft beneficially owned by Foreign Nationals in a manner that allows foreign Nationals to receive host county tax benefits in the same manner as if the aircraft was titled in the Foreign National's host Country. AGFC controls over One Billion $$ worth of Aircraft located in sixty countries.

Other Awards and achievements:

Retired LTC in the United States Army//Has published articles in foreign aviation journals, World Aircraft, Sales Magazine, GA Buyer, AOPA: Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Has also written articles at the request of the German Government.

During his carrier, Connie contracted with the FAA to certify and train pilots to fly many types of planes - from prop planes to jet aircraft. Certifications were performed in the US, Germany, Africa, Europe, Middle East and other countries.

Private:

His greatest passions were family (includes Buck, his dog), the restoration of old cars and military vintage guns. He and his wife, Mary, spent many happy days traveling around Texas showing one or more of their restored automobiles. Family was always a high priority for Connie. He and Mary loved them and actively pursued taking care of them in all ways during their working lives and in retirement.

In August of 2018, Connie professed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized by his Pastor at home. Mary, his wife, re-dedicated her life to Christ at this time as well. They both joined Pine Forest Baptist Church a short time later and became faithful and supportive members.
