Funeral services for Lula Mae Hoot, 94, of Shepherd, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the First Assembly of God in Shepherd, Texas with Pastor Jeremy Nichols and Bro. Thomas Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston.
Lula Mae was born on July 15, 1919 in Staley, Texas and passed away on February 15, 2014 in Shepherd, Texas. She was a housewife for the majority of her life and a longtime resident of Shepherd, Texas. She is preceded in death by husband, Lee Jefferson Hoot; daughter, Mary Louise Hoot Cleveland; parents, Isaac Jordon and Lula (Blalock) Jones; brother, W.J. Jones; and four sisters, Mary Poorbaugh, Sadie Warren, Bertha White and Estelle Thomas.
She is survived by her daughters, Myrtle Lee Hoot Simmons of Shepherd, Texas and Frances Lunell Hoot Butler and husband, Kenneth of Wortham, Texas; grandchildren, Gregory Marcus James and wife, Peggy of Houston, Texas, Brad Kenneth Butler and wife, Denise of Wortham, Texas, Cheri Dawn Spencer and husband, Scott, of Wortham, Texas, Kelly Paul Butler and wife, Kerri of Wortham, Texas and Gary Cecil Parker of Shepherd, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin, Kelli-Ann, Hance, Kane, Leah, Brandon and Aidon; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lula Mae will be escorted to her grave by pallbearers, Brad Butler, Kelly Butler, Scott Spencer, Kane Butler, Hance Spencer and David Paul Allbright.
