Obituary

Funeral services for Macie Virginia Jones, 96, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Central Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Mike Meadows officiating. A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Monahans Memorial Cemetery in Monahan, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Jones was born November 26, 1918 in Comanche, Oklahoma to parents, Robert Roark and Emma (Bohannon) Roark, and passed away June 23, 2015 in Livingston, Texas. She graduated from Empire High School in Oklahoma in 1934 and attended Oklahoma Baptist University on an academic scholarship. Macie taught math in Seminole and Monahans for 28 years until she retired in 1980 and moved to Livingston. She then began working at Central Baptist Church until she retired again in 2013. She loved her church, family and reading. Macie is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Jones; parents; and son, Bill R. Jones.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Katie Jones of Arnasas Pass; daughter-in-law, Susan Jones of Livingston; grandchildren, Brad and Trishka Jones of Livingston, Chad and Terri Greenwood of Livingston, Julie and Joe Puckett of Livingston, Leslie and Derrick Birdsall of Denton, Elizabeth and Taylor Bloomquist of Corpus Christi, Mary Kay Jones of Corpus Christi, Jack Jones of Corpus Christi, Rebecca and Lance Bell of North Dakota; great grandchildren, Kole and Kaitlin Puckett of Livingston, Kelsey Puckett of Nacogdoches, Zack Greenwood of Livingston, Haley Greenwood of Livingston, Krista Jones, Jackson Jones, and Brooklyn Jones all of Livingston, Connor and Katelyn Bell of North Dakota; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Trudie Neal, Susanne David, Dale and Della Hill.

Pallbearers: John Barrett, Byron Baxley, Gene Bush, Larry Greene, George Harrell, John Haynes, Dale Hill, Jim Parrott, John Allen Slocomb.
