Margie Nell Boxley, age 84, of Goodrich, TX passed away peacefully at her home, with some of her family by her side, on February 26, 2026. Margie was born on March 8, 1941, in Cut-n-Shoot, TX, to the late Jesse Mae Hilton and Jack W Maguire. Her family moved to Texas City, TX when she was very young & she remained there through high school.
Margie was a cherished momma, granny, sister and friend. Her grandchildren & great grandchildren were the light of her life. She cherished every second with each of them.
She met the love of her life, Charlie H Boxley & they married on Dec 31, 1976. After the kids were grown and gone, in 1982, they decided to make their home at Lil’ Tejas Ranch in Goodrich, TX. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church-Livingston for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Howard Boxley; her parents, Jack William Maguire & Jesse Mae Maguire; her son in law’s, William Johnson, Jr & Jerry Stanley; her daughter in law, Janice Lee; her grandson, William “Willi” Johnson IV.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Bobbitt of Jacksonville, TX; her children - daughter’s, Dena D Woodall, husband Jim of Flint, TX; Dawn E Lee, husband Abdulla of Bahrain; Deidra ‘Dee’ Walker, husband James of Livingston, TX; Katharine Kent, partner Kevin Krause of Tucson, AZ;
Son’s, George E Lee of Canyon, TX; Charles ‘Chip’ Boxley of Huffman, TX; daughter-in-law, Lynda Hynes of Livingston, TX
13 Grandkids; 13 Great-Grandkids; 3 Nephews, Cousins, many friends and her precious dog, Dixie.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Wed March 18, 2026, at 11:00 am at First Assembly of God Church, 2025 N Houston Ave, Livingston, TX with Bro Chris Borden officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you make donations in Margie Boxley’s name to SPCA of Livingston or St Jude Hospital.
