Margie McIntosh Dove (15 March 1932-01 Dec 2010). After a long battle with heart disease, in the early morning hours of the 1st of December 2010, our loving mother lost her struggle. Mom was born in Lufkin, Texas on the 15th of March 1932. She was one of 5 children born to George Marsh McIntosh and Eskie Perkins McIntosh. Mom' dad was a farmer, this would account for her green thumb as she always had a garden of some sort. Mom' family lived and farmed all around the Huntington, Lufkin and Zavalla area. Mom attended school in Huntington, Texas, where, upon graduating from Huntington High School she met and married Billy C. Dove, of Lufkin, Texas. Mom was 18 and Dad was 20. Mom and Dad spent 4 years in the United States Air Force, mostly in Lubbock, Texas, where they started our family. When Dad left the Air Force, they moved to Livingston, Texas, around 1955, where Dad was editor and publisher of the Polk County Enterprise. Mom was involved in the newspaper business, starting with selling, advertising and later working in the bookkeeping and billing departments. Mom and Dad remained at the Polk County Enterprise until 1973. During this time Mom worked and raised 4 children, Billy, Rodney, Kim, and Tracy ( Tracy was a latecomer to the Dove family circus). Mom was involved in many community activities in Livingston, freely giving her time to the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Civil Defense, Livingston Church of Christ, and many other community organizations. After leaving the newspaper business Mom was always involved in Dad' many business enterprises, whether it is running a motel, cleaning rooms, keeping books, or feeding catfish on Dad' fish farm, Mom was always Dad' girl Friday, confidant, and partner. We could not have asked for a more caring and nurturing family environment than what Mom and Dad provided. Mom always had a cheerful outlook on life. She never met a stranger or had a cross word to say about anyone. She taught us all love and patience. After Dad' retirement and passing in 1996, Mom remained in Livingston for a while, and eventually moved to Conroe, Texas with Kim and her husband Mike Daniel. Mom' passion was researching her family genealogy and posting her family pictures on Facebook. Mom is survived by her children, Billy C. Dove, Jr. and wife Gail Dove of Houston, Texas, Rodney K. Dove of Livingston, Texas, Kim and her husband Mike Daniel of Conroe, Texas, Tracy Laux and husband Doug Laux of Longview, Texas. Grandchildren, Jeremy Munnerlyn of Houston, Texas, Billy C. Dove III of Spring, Texas, Laura Dove of Conroe, Texas, Randi Hamilton of Conroe, Texas, and great granddaughter, Kailey M. Dove of Cypress, Texas and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Mom was also Mee-Maw to Tim Daniel, Ryan Daniel, and Meghann Laux and special family friend who was always like a daughter to her, Tori Maricelli. Mom was pre-deceased by her husband of 46 years, Billy C. Dove, Sr., her parents Eskie McIntosh Schoubroek and George Marsh McIntosh, stepfather, Coleman Schoubroek, sisters, Lemora McIntosh Carrol and husband of Kenneth M. Carrol, Joan McIntosh Fuller and husband James (Bully) Fuller, brothers, Gene (Blue) McIntosh and Jerry (Milo) McIntosh, and grandson, Dale P. DeSelle, Jr. Visitation will be at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas on Friday the 3rd of December 2010 from 3 PM-7 PM. Services will be Saturday, the 4th of December 2010 at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas at 11 AM with interment to follow that afternoon at Jonesville Cemetery, Huntington, Texas. The many kind words, thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Mom' name to the American Heart Association, or the charity of your choice.

Psalm 27:4-5

One thing I ask LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.

John 14:1-4

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father' house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.
