Obituary

Funeral services for Marian Helen Shank, 89, of Onalaska, Texas, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 14, 2014 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Roy Askins officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 14, 2014, in the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Marian was born on August 3, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away on July 8, 2014 in Lufkin, Texas. She worked as a nurse for many years and is a three time cancer survivor. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Shank; parents, Edward and Helen (Paur) Shank; brother, Edward Jessel; and sister, Carole Straka.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Paul and Susan Shank of Albuquerque, New Mexico; son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Jan Shank of Livingston, Texas; grandsons and their wives, Mike and Allison Shank of Mentone, Alabama and Daniel and Amy Shank of Livingston, Texas; great-grandchildren, Mark Shank of Livingston, Texas, Addison Shank of Livingston, Texas, Dillon Shank of Mentone, Alabama, and Gracie Shank of Mentone, Alabama; special niece, Ann Marie Channel of Longview, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers: Roger Aliperti, Sam Almquist, David Byer, Robert Harms, Gary Jenke, and David Musgrove.
