Graveside services for Mrs. Marilyn Pope, 80, of Segno, Texas, formerly of Hardin, Texas will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Magnolia Hill cemetery, in Segno, Texas.

Marilyn was born in July 4, 1938 in Bryan, Texas, to parents, J.O. Durst and Juanita (Wolfe) Durst and passed away August 17, 2018 in Livingston, Texas. Marilyn married J.O. Pope on July 4, 1957 and had 2 children. Marilyn loved to cook, can, quilt, crochet, and was a devoted wife and mother for 61 years. She graduated from Robert E. Lee high school in May 1956 and spent 27 years devoted to books and support of education at Hardin Elementary school. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, J.D. Pope of Livingston, Texas; son, Marcus Pope and wife, Diona of Harriman, Tennessee; daughter, Wendy Poor and husband, Jimmy of Granbury, Texas; granddaughter, Amy Pope of Houston, Texas; grandson, Eli Murphy and wife, Aimee of Lumberton, Texas; granddaughter, Lindsey Galey and husband, Mathew of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Donaldson and husband, Walter of Maxwell, Texas; sister, Linda Guy and husband, Burt of Clear Lake, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
