Services for Mark Phillip Mays, 70, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Elder EL McCloud of Youngblood Memorial FHC officiating. Interment will follow at New Wensley Cemetery in Leggett, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, October 27, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Mark was born July 29, 1953 in Wichita Falls, Texas and passed away October 14, 2023 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Morris Mays; and brothers, Morris Leroy Mays and James Earl Mays.

Mark is survived by his wife, Elwanda Mays of Livingston, Texas; mother, Bernice Jefferson Mays of Leggett, Texas; son, Mark Mays Jr. of Houston, Texas, daughter, Sumorria Mays of Houston, Texas, Arneetra Berry and husband Emanuel of Beaumont, Texas, and Tiffany Mays of Killeen, Texas; son Edmond Mays and wife Lahope of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Laketha Thomas of Livingston, Texas; sons, Devonta Mays of Austin, Texas, Shamar Landers of Livingston, Texas, and Steven Mays of Livingston, Texas; daughters, Kimberly Dunn-Bryant and husband Jay of Baker, Florida and Markena Johnson of Livingston, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Johnnice Bunn of Lufkin, Texas, Glenda Dirden of Moscow, Texas, Dessie Williams of Houston, Texas, Peggy Mays of Leggett, Texas, Patricia Mays of Corrigan, Texas, and Kathy Dove and husband Po'Boy of Corrigan, Texas; brothers, Michael Mays and wife Mellon of Corrigan, Texas, Louis Odums of Houston, Texas, Joe Mays of Leggett, Texas, and Patrick Mays and wife Connie of Lufkin, Texas; along with numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
