A graveside service for Mark James Nye, 84, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery in Houston, Texas with Rev. John Hirling officiating. There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Livingston, Texas.

Mark James Nye was born August 19, 1938 in Cushing, Oklahoma and passed away June 8, 2023 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Rose Mary (Barclay) Nye.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Nye of Livingston, Texas.  He and Jane were married for 52 years.  He served 25 years in the United States Navy, retiring as a Master Chief.  He then served as a teacher for 20 years.  Mark loved God, his wife and family, motorcycles, guitars, singing reading and computers.

He is also survived by his  brother, Eric Nye of Houston, Texas; son, Steve Nye and Dana Lightsey of Fort Collins, Colorado; daughter, Leslie Kachura and husband Fred of Fort Collins, Colorado; son, Scott Nye of Casper, Wyoming; daughter, Laura Burke and husband Randy of Casper, Wyoming; son, Brian Nye and wife Poppy of Huntsville, Texas; daughter, Robin Sessums and husband David of Livingston, Texas; six grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren; along with numerous other loved ones and friends.
