Memorial services for Martin "Buzzy" Ashley Ermel, 73, of Deer Park, Texas will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Alan Bramlett officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m.
Martin Ermel answered his call, took a full breath, and entered the presence of our Lord on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Most affectionately known by all as "Buzzy", he was born to parents, Philip and Ruby Ermel on March 7, 1948, in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arnie Ermel and Philip Ermel; and sister, Elizabeth Tribe.
Buzzy married Monette in 1969, with whom he became a father of three children; all of whom survive him. He later married Janet in 2000, extending his family by accepting her children as his own; all of whom survive him.
He is survived by his children, Steve Ermel and wife, Renee, Stacy McMillan and husband, Jeremy, and Stephanie Ermel; his wife, Janet Ermel and her children, Mindy Beier and husband. David, Michelle Nichols and husband, Shaun, and Jason Ross; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Gattis, Norma Holman, and Lawanda West; brother, Royce Ermel and wife, Kathy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Buzzy is, and will always be, remembered for his strong work ethic, sense of humor, and love for family. He was a man of faith, strength, perseverance, and admiration that demonstrated respect, honor, and integrity. He would, in his own unique way, encourage and challenge others to do the same. To his family, he was more than protector and provider, he afforded affection, confidence, and reassurance.
Buzzy was a positive influence on all that had the privilege of knowing him. Because of his strong work ethic, he became an instructor and mentor for all who worked with him. Buzzy was enjoying his retirement following his 27 years with Bealine Service Company, sharing experiences and jokes over a cup of coffee. However, his greatest sense of pride was being a Husband, Father, and Grandfather.
