Obituary
Funeral services for Martin Holbert, 83, of Houston, Texas will be held Friday, December 12, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Ralph Steven Clements, Jr. officiating. Interment to follow at the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 11, 2014 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Holbert was born April 23, 1931 in Paris, Texas to parents, John Holbert and Delphia (Flemmings) Holbert, and passed away December 6, 2014 in Shepherd, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Ruth Sutherland, Muarine Rasco, Bertha Rasco, Patsy Garrett, Betty Levitt and Joyce Allan; brothers, Leroy Holbert and Rascoe Holbert; great-grandsons, Geblin Graves Clements and Joseph Ray Clements.
He is survived by his daughters, Velma Ann Holbert of Livingston, Texas, Doris Jean Clements of Livingston, Texas, Gladys May Holbert of Shepherd, Texas, Barbara Gail Clements and husband, Ralph Steven Clements Sr. of Shepherd, Texas, Nora Sue Holbert of Houston, Texas, Mary Christine Holbert of Houston, Texas; son, Luther James Holbert of Houston, Texas; daughter, Jeanette Ann Perkey and husband, Leonard Wayne Perky of Livingston, Texas; sons, Kenneth Martin Holbert and wife Joycelyn of Deer Park, Texas, Ronnie Lee Holbert of Houston, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Ewing of Amarillo, Texas; brother, Vaudie Holbert of Floydada, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
