October 31, 1928 – May 11, 2014
Mr. Malone was born on October 31, 1928 in Soda, Texas and passed away on May 11, 2014 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a qualified parachutist and gliderman. He was a past commander of the VFW Hall and also a member of Douglas McArthur's Honor Guard. He joined the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department on September 6, 1953, Unit #6, and during his years of service he was a lieutenant and a captain. He was also a member of the Fire Department Pumper Team. Mr. Malone coached youth baseball and youth football in Livingston for many years; among his many hobbies, fishing was his favorite. He was also a member of Bethel Baptist Church at Bold Springs. He loved his family, his children, and his grandchildren dearly.
Mr. Malone is preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Myrle (Stutts) Malone; and brothers, Charles Malone and David Malone.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Malone of Alba, Texas; son, Danny Malone of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha Stutts and James of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Rodriguez and Marcos of Livingston, Texas; son, Roger Malone of Austin, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Lynne Hutchison and Danny of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Weston Nettles and Heather of Longview, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; brothers, Andy Malone, Malcolm Malone, Jerry Malone, John Malone, Billy Andrus, and Danny Malone; sisters, Linda Benson, Mildred Brown, Sheryl Sims, Nancy English, and Gail Reily.
