Obituary
Memorial services for Marvin R. Martin, 81, of Carlisle, Texas, will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lakeway Baptist Church in Trinity, Texas with Bro. Earl Webb and Bro. Arnold Ortiz officiating.
Mr. Martin was born on December 12, 1935 in Cisco, Texas to parents, Marvin R. Martin Sr. and Jewell (Allen) Martin, and passed away on December 30, 2016 at the age of 81 after a long illness. During his life, Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was also a pastor at many churches in this area. Lakeway Baptsit Church being the last one before he retired. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sandra Jo Squires.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce Martin of Carlisle, Texas; his sons, David Lee Stafford and wife, Mickey of Livingston, Texas; Gary Wayne Stafford of Carlisle, Texas; daughter, Dawn Evette Martin of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Nicholas Stafford, Beth Stafford, Rose Marie Light, Robert Stafford, Amanda Stafford, Rickey Coppock, Frank Coppock, Katherine Underwood, and Keith George; great-grandchildren, Delaney Heinrich, Millie Stafford, and Presleigh Underwood; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whom he loved very much.
