Mary Lou Andreas

Mary Lou Andreas, 88, of Livingston, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on July 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Born on December 13, 1937, in Gilbert, Louisiana, to James Andrew and Mattie Leona Tarver, she was one of nine children. At just 18 years old, she married the love of her life, Jake W. Andreas, and together they built a family rooted in faith, love, and hard work. She faithfully served as past Worthy Matron of the Cedar Bayou Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She raised her family in Baytown, Texas before moving to Livingston, TX where she resided the past 20 years.

For more than 60 years, Mary Lou was a gifted seamstress and owner of Windows and Things started in Baytown, Texas, where she designed custom draperies for clients across the state. Early in her career, she wrote and taught the Interior Design courses at Lee College sharing her expertise in the field. There was little she couldn’t sew or fix, and her hands were never idle. Even into her late eighties, she continued doing what she loved until only weeks before her passing.

Retirement simply wasn’t part of her vocabulary. She believed that if you were able to work, you worked. She taught by example that character is built through perseverance, integrity, and showing up every single day.

Known as “MawMaw” to so many, she never met a stranger and had a special gift for making everyone feel loved. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her precious great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jake W. Andreas, and her daughter, Linda Andreas Thompson, six brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her son, Tracy Andreas and wife Betty; grandson Dustin Andreas and wife Jessica; great-grandchildren Drake Andreas, Fowler Andreas, Ella Eastepp, Easton Eastepp, and Hailey Smith. Along with a host of many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was one of the strongest women anyone who knew her had ever met—not because life was easy, but because she never quit. Obstacles didn’t stop her; they simply became another challenge to overcome. Her determination became an example that continues to inspire her family today.

Mary Lou Andreas lived a life defined by faith, love, hard work, and service. She believed that the greatest things in life were not measured by wealth, but by the lives we touch and the love we leave behind. Through every stitch she sewed, every kind word she shared, and every sacrifice she made for her family, she built a legacy that will live on for generations. Though her sewing machine is now still, the love she stitched into the hearts of those around her will never unravel.

Funeral services for Mary Lou Andreas will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas, with Bro. Michael Battenfield officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Ruby Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Tracy Andreas, Dustin Andreas, Brady Corbitt, Patrick Mireles, Jason Lambert, Billy Sol Wiggins, Andrew Haynes, and Eric Wiggins.

Honorary Pallbearers: Easton Eastepp, Drake Andreas, and Fowler Andreas.
