Mary Helen (Collins) Williamson Coker age 73 of Livingston passed away Tuesday February 16, 2010 at her home. Memorial services will be Saturday 11:00AM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Frank Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Grove Cemetery.
Mary Helen was born April 25, 1936 in Livingston and raised in Rye, Liberty County Texas. The oldest daughter of Addie R. Collins and Avie Mae (Day) Collins. She attended school in Hardin ISD and went to Elliott' Business School in Houston, before going to work for Southern Pacific RR at the age of 20. She married young & to this union 2 children were born, Corless Williamson, and Carlton Williamson. After 20 years of marriage she was divorced and moved back to Polk County.
In 1972 she married Billy W. Coker, to this union no children were born, but 2 of Billy' children john Coker & Cellie Coker lived in their home for several years.
Mary Helen was a baptist by faith, and was baptized in Menard Creek water at the age of 13 by the Holly Grove Baptist Church.
Mary Helen owned and operated an accounting business in Polk County for many years. She loved to garden and cook for her family. She was always proud of her children & her grandchildren , and loved to make pictures of them. She loved to quilt and made many quilts in her lifetime. In her last few years she enjoyed her great grandchildren Austin, Taylor, Luci, and Josh.
She will be cremated and her ashes buried in Holly Grove Cemetery by her husband of 37 years Billy W. Coker and her 2 children Corliss (Hiny) Williamson and Carlton H. Williamson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Herman Williamson, her only 2 children, granddaughter Dee Williamson, and step daughter Barbara Coker, and the love of her life her husband Billy W. Coker who passed way January 20, 2009.
She will rest in peace until these loved ones come to heaven to meet her. Her brother Joe Collins and wife Bonnie of Tarkington, her two sisters Pat Burnett and husband Willie of Zavalla, Arlene Timmons and husband Nolan of Livingston, all her grandchildren Tammy (Williamson) Morehead and husband Dough of Bremond, Carlton D. Williamson and wife Malinda of Clayton, Ohio, Willie V. Williamson of Livingston, Erik Kay of Redway, Ca., and Kevin Kay of Redway, Ca.. Her great grandchildren Austin Williamson of Oklahoma City, Ok., Taylor Williamson of Clayton, Ok., Luci Williamson of Livingston, and Josh Morehead of Bremond. Her sister in law Virginia Aubrey of Livingston, sister in law Carol Pridgen and husband Joe of Livingston, uncles Emanuel Collins of Rye, D.C. Collins and wife Bernice of Houston. Her very special caretaker Melinda Barton, many special nieces, nephew, friends, and neighbors who she loved very much.
