THE MEMORIES OF MARY SMITH AT HER PIANO....
There are so many memories shared by the children of Ms. Mary Olene Smith. Everything from many nights spent in our living rooms listening to jam sessions of mom and her friends playing music into the night and on weekends to the notable people that she shared music with over the years.

Back in the 50s she sat in on a show at the Huntsville Prison Rodeo with Mr. Merle Haggard and his band. Her good friend and trusted bandmate, Mr. Richard ( Levi ) Satterwhite of Baytown once brought the not then famous Mr. Roy Clark of the Hee Haw fame to our house and they played music for hours. Mr. Floyd Tillman asked her to join his band, but she wasn't able to accept his proposal for prior obligations. When she turned 80, Mr. John Rex Reeves in Carthage called her up on the stage at his show to congratulate her on her 80th Birthday.

Ms. Mary played the piano for many organizations including various music clubs, nursing homes, and little theatres. Most notable was the Livingston Pineywoods Players that included Mrs. Sarah Davis, Mrs. Nell Franklin, Mrs. Miram Young, and Mr. Sidney Smith on his famous saxophone. She was given a Certificate In Grateful Appreciation for Volunteer Services in the Social Program of Avalon Place.

A few of her friends were Mr. Corky Cochran, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Johnson of the infamous Johnson's Rock Shop in Indian Springs, her forever friends Mrs. Imogene Fore of Houston, Mrs. Merle Argumenti of Houston, and Mrs. Woolridge of Livingston. There were many more and she loved them all. Her friends and her family were her life.

Let's all join together to salute and raise a glass to this wonderful lady with such an amazing life. We will miss you until we join you in Heaven.
