Mary Lois Payne, age 94, died peacefully on February 16, 2013. Lois was born August 3, 1918 in Blountstown, Florida, the daughter of William Lamberth and Mary Elizabeth Barbee.

In 1935, Lois married Oreal Adron Payne and they had four children: Louise Nash, Jimmy Payne, Sue Ellis, and Jerry Mack Payne; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to being a homemaker and raising four children, Lois was a foster grandmother at Lufkin State School and an aide at Central Independent School District. The Special Needs Children loved their Granny Payne and she encouraged them through her smile for over twenty-five years.

Lois was a member of O?ÇÖQuinn Baptist Church.

She is survived by one brother, Bennie Morgan of Seattle Washington and three children. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Colonel Jimmy Payne.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston with Rev. Keith Woolf conducting the service. Interment followed the services in the Bold Springs Cemetery in Livingston.
