Funeral services for Maudie Frances Axelson, 91, of Livingston, Texas will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Kevan Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the Camp Ruby Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2017 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Axelson was born on December 19, 1925 in Yoakum, Texas to parents, Ernest Roy Cook and Allie (Matthew) Cook, and passed away on January 27, 2017 in Livingston, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Edward "Eddie" Axelson; son, William Edwin "Bill" Axelson; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Rainey of Livingston, Texas. And Terry Arnold and husband, Charles of Cleveland, Texas; granddaughters, Cheryl Berlzik and wife, Ingrid of Livingston, Texas, Tiffany Strawn and husband, Melvin of Alvin, Texas, Dana Porche and husband, Abbie of Aledo, Texas, Laurie Strickland and husband, Ashley of Ruston, Louisiana, and Bobbie Axelson of Carthage, Texas; grandson, Jason Arnold of Friendswood, Texas; granddaughter, Christina Arnold of Spring, Texas; great-grandchildren, Steven Garcia and wife, Milissa, Jonathan Black, Reed Porche and wife, Sarah, Madalyn Porche, Grayson Porche, Rachel Porche, Cadence Porche, Matthew Porche, Jacob Porche, Lauren Strickland, Sadie Strickland, Clarity Arnold, Hannah Arnold, Samantha Arnold, Amanda Emry, Rachel Emry, Joshua Emry, and Taylor Axelson; great-great grandchildren, Hannah Smith and Berkeley Porche; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
