Funeral services for Mavis Evelyn Griggs, 79, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Blue Springs Cemetery in Etoile, Texas. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. until service time, in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Ms. Griggs was born October 13, 1936 in Nacogdoches, Texas to parents, Macon M. Mooney and Beulah (Lambert) Mooney, and passed away May 26, 2016 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Walter Mooney and Leroy Mooney.

She is survived by her son, Robert Serpas and Sharon of Huntington, Texas; son, Raymond Serpas of Many, Louisiana; daughter, Becky Peters of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Becky Tinsley and Dale, Betsy Hancock, Houston Serpas and Sara, Tyler Serpas, Shelby Serpas, Scott Peters and Rebecca, Darin Peters and Christina, DeeDee Dean and Thomas; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Laverne Ferguson of Etoile, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
