Obituary

Graveside services for Max Odom, 67, of Houston, Texas, will be held Monday, November 8, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Military Honors will be provided by the District 4 honor guard team.

Max was born December 21, 1953 in Groveton, Texas, to parents, Mickey Bob Odom and Opal Odom, and passed away October 31, 2021 in Houston, Texas after a lengthy illness in the VA Hospital. During his life, he proudly served his country in two different branches of service; 3 years in the Marines Corp. and 4 years in the Army. He was a very dedicated soldier to his country. Max spent the last 15 years in Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father; brother, Mickey Buck Odom; infant brothers, Erwin and Rex Odom; and his grandparents.

He is survived by his mother, Opal Haynes of Onalaska, Texas; sister, Kathy Odom of Livingston, Texas; brothers, Gerald Guy Haynes and wife, Brandi of Montgomery, Texas; and John P. Haynes and girlfriend, Rosy of Onalaska, Texas; nephews, Tres Harrison and wife, Lauren, Matthew Kennedy Haynes, Joseph Haynes and wife, Rosi, and Wesley Odom; nieces, Melodi Haynes, Maghen Haynes, Taylor Haynes, Tara Birdsong, Regan Haynes, Deidra Odom Clark, and April Odom Krog; great-nephews, Jed Harrison, Collin Krog, Conner Krog, Quinten Clark, and Hayden Griffin; and great-nieces, Caroline Harrison, Rory Doolin, Rylee Light, Adyson Light, Harper Grace Haynes, Penelope Haynes, and Kathryn Holt; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
