Melanie Jean Nielsen, age 57 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away on February 28, 2013. Melanie was born on May 22, 1955, in Houston, Texas, to Eugene and Helen Winsman Breuss.

Melanie is preceded in death by her father; son, Matthew Nielsen; granddaughter, Ariel Nielsen; and sister, Cheri Brandon. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Nielsen, of Coldspring, Texas; daughter, Bridgette Willis, of Coldspring, Texas; daughter, Brandy Nielsen, of New Caney, Texas; grandson, Dustin Willis, of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter, Brittany Willis, of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter, Cheyenne Warren, of Coldspring, Texas; mother, Helen Breuss, of Aurora, Colorado; sister, Pamela Breuss, of Aurora, Colorado; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Joe Flores, of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law, Keith Nielsen, of Shepherd, Texas; brother-in-law, Alan Nielsen, of Coldspring, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Services for Melanie Jean Nielsen will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Father Clifton Labbe will be officiating the service.

A visitation will be held the same day, at 8:00 AM, up until service time.
