Graveside services for Melinda Kay Farned, 71, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Big Sandy Cemetery in Big Sandy, Texas with Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating.
Mrs. Farned was born July 14, 1949 in Woodville, Texas to parents, Newton McRade Womack and Ivor (Humble) Womack, and passed away July 20, 2020 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her loving husband or 32 years and 11 months, Gordon Farned; parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lenord and Peggy Womack, and Tommy and Faye Womack.
Kay and Gordon had a 50 year friendship that eventually cultivated into a beautiful marriage of over 32 years. They were extremely close and can now be together forever. Kay was the center of her family and loved being with them. She adored spending time with her granddaughters and spent many special moments with them. Kay's generosity, empathy, and caring nature made her a great protector of those she loved and served in her career. She loved the Lord and always turned to Him in times of joy and difficulty. Her unwavering faith never failed her and brought her great comfort during the last several months of her life. Kay will be remembered as a loving, funny and doting wife, mother, Kay Kay (grandmother), and friend.
She is survived by her son, Jason Cropper of Tomball, Texas; daughter, Molly Kay Slusher of Tomball, Texas; granddaughters, Darla Cropper and Maddie Slusher both of Tomball, Texas; sisters, Carla Thomson and Doris Womack both of Webster, Texas, and Clarrell Williams of Vidor, Texas; and brother, Bruce Womack of Olympia, Washington; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Kay's honor.
